What
are the potential side effects of buserelin acetate treatment
Initial administration of buserelin acetate has been reported to
result in a temporary increase in blood testosterone levels. This
may increase the hair loss symptoms. However, the testosterone activity
is temporary and the desired reduction effect is soon noticable.
Other side effects are listed bleow.
Headache (common). Pruritus. Hot flushes (common). Impotence and
decrease of libido (common). Gynecomastia. Diarrhea and nausea.
Skin reaction (wheal) allergy (rare). Skeletal calcium loss in women.
There may be a reaction at the site of injection (if injected)
including pain, irritation, swelling and urticaria. If the drug
is taken as a nasal spray then there may be nasal irritation and
dry nose sensations.
